So... What's NEW?

NEW was founded in 2006 by its founding president Myren Garcia and a small group of female starters (her colleagues from previous work and friends from University of Asia and the Pacific where she graduated) who met every Saturday at Myren's then coffee shop.

NEW was founded in 2006 by its founding president Myren Garcia and a small group of female starters (her colleagues from previous work and friends from University of Asia snd the Pacific where she graduated) who met every Saturday at Myren's then coffee shop.
Garcia: "To be considered successful, you should be able to help other people too."

After working in a bank for so many years, Myren realized she wasn't reaching her full potential. She wanted to create something of her own but saw that there was lack of information, network and opportunities, and so it sparked the idea of establishing NEW!

Myren and her support group's simple meetings soon became a hub of ideas and a sophisticated vocation, and they started organizing mini events and forums to further expand their knowledge in entrepreneurship, til finally in 2008, they launched their very first Annual Women Entrepreneurs Conference, with the Internet being their only medium to advertise such event! Luckily, Philippine Star took notice and became a media partner. To their surprise and delight, 500 women came and their organization grew bigger! Currently, NEW has 52 members.

Last year's Network for Enterprising Women conference speakers featured best selling author, life coach and inspirational speaker Francis Kong, and one of NEW's prime mentors and owner of Mary Grace Foods, Mary Grace Dimacali; also present then were long-time members and the women behind successful businesses like Milea, Imagere, Strip It, Smart Concepts, Status Hair Salon, Dreambook Journal and Sweet Blooms Pastillas.
