My Holy Grail Laser at Substance Laser & Skin Clinic

No, the clinic is not owned by a dermatologist (but there are attending dermas from PDS present, ok), but rather, the owner was also a patient herself.
As a 14 year old girl who could not even face the mirror due to her severe acne, and hence, self esteem issues, she made it her goal to achieve clear, healthy skin one day. (Gosh! That story is so close to my heart! I had cystic acne starting at 16 years old and yes, I too could not even bear to look at my reflection!)
The journey was dreary- from apathetic therapists, hyped up products that did not even deliver, to exorbitantly marked up prices. After 10 years, she finally reached her dream.
Armed with a mission to share her discovery, she founded Substance- a clinic with an array of curated solutions she researched, tried and tested with fellow aesthetic doctor friends! At Substance, quality is not compromised regardless of price or duration of treatment!

Spectra laser/ Holy grail laser.
Synergy machine. Same as hydra facial. It was said they are the ONLY clinic to have this machine.
Has 4 tools at the sides. Plus, all their medicines are imported from the USA.
Jet peel machine.
My first laser experience:
Now I availed of a complimentary treatment. I cannot decide between Holy Grail Laser and Hollywood Peel but eventually settled for the former, since the latter is said to be best for those with active/cystic pimples. It is also recommended to have a peel first before the laser, but for purposes of this blog, we will just look at the effect of laser only.
Holy Grail Laser
Also known as the Q Switch Laser Toning Treatment, the Holy Grail Laser is designed to lighten age spots and freckles with a beam of energy tuned at a specific wavelength. This procedure is FDA approved, non-invasive, and effective in treating pigmentation, dull skin, acne marks and pimples.
So before starting, I filled up and signed a waiver and patient info form.
The steps as I remember them:
First- Cleaning. Second- Before pics were taken. Third- Check with the doctor (required). Fourth-Eyes were covered eyes then laser proper. Fifth- Sunblock is applied on the face. Sixth- After pics were shot.
The skin therapist who attended to me was courteous. But the laser itself was done by the derma. Dr. Mendoza is quite friendly and she also explains all about this procedure. The laser is not painful but there is like a "pitik" and warmth, and I can also smell some burning (as 1st layer of the skin is warmed).
Immediately after, my skin had a glow, was brighter and less oily! This is also recommended if you have a big event so bongga yung skin mo. I was allowed to wash my face later that night. I can continue to use my skin care toners/creams after 2 to 3 days na.
Holy Grail laser is said to be the secret of the owner in maintaining her white, flawless skin!
Continuing to do this monthly will help to remove acne scars (hey, it was said to be better than Fraxel since it has no downtime and is not as invasive), and bleach facial hair.
There is plenty of seats in the waiting area. They also have a comfort room inside and Free Wi-Fi.

Of course I do not wear any makup when I will have a facial hahaha. Especially in the nose area, besh parang nawala yung mga blackheads.
