K-Palette Magical Makeup Workshop in Rustans

K-Palette Philippines had a Magical Makeover Workshop in Rustan's Edsa Shangri-La yesterday, July 30, 2014, 5:30 PM. Oh, the first gen-ad or open to the public 1 Day Magic beauty workshop was held July 28 in SM Mall of Asia.

I first heard about K-Palette from my rich cousin who is so into beauty. She highly recommends their eyebrow tattoo.

k-palette, philippines, workshop,

First ten pre-registered who arrives will receive an eyeliner.

So from my event that morning I lounged for a short while at a coffee shop then went straight there.
At 4:00 PM, I was the first to arrive but the venue was already set up. I think everyone was early in anticipation of the gift hehe!

Soon, Japanese Makeup Artist Sayaka Nagashima and Aisaku Yokogawa, her interpreter, came.
Singer Aisaku speaks fluent Tagalog even though he is pure Japanese! He related that he was in the commercial of Kari Lucky Me! and has been with K-Palette for 3 years already.

Here is the before and after shot of the audience, Rachel (hopefully my spelling is correct). The second is to show that the left side of the face with contour looks slimmer and smaller as compared with right side without. What a big difference!

aisaku yokogawa

I learned so many things from Ms. Sayaka including:
  • Kawaii- cute and young, large eyes, small face
  • Concentrate the eyeliner at the middle of the upper eye (to achieve wide big doll eye), then for the lower from end just til the middle of the iris (not all around the lower)
  • Using the brown shade, lowlight the sides of the face and the sides of the nose
  • Use the white shade to highlight nose bridge (area above the in-between of eyebrows to tip, to achieve T-shape); then the brow bone to above the cheekbone (C-shape)
  • Apply mascara brush following the growth and again opposite or against the growth of the eyebrow so hair will be 3D thoroughly covered
  • Orange shade all over cheek to the cheekbone
  • Pink shade apply it round at the apples only
  • Try to put blush higher (nearer the eye) for a younger look
  • Using the white shade as base all over the lids so colors will really pop, then after putting other eyeshadow color, put this white again just pat middle of lids (see illustration A)
  • The white fiber is only applied at the top of the upper lashes and not below, otherwise it will make lashes heavy and curl will droop (see illustration B). You can also apply it at the bottom lashes
I know my drawing here looks like a kid's

The new K-Palette 1 Day Magic Series  includes fiber mascara priced at Php 895 (dual wand- 1 side has dry white fibers), liquid eyeliner, Php 695, eyeglue liquid SRP Php 650 (eyelid glue help for monolid) and 3D palette, Php 895 (highlight/contour/blush). They also featured Kuma concealer, and 1 Day Tattoo Real Lasting eyebrow mascara with special showerhead-like brush that costs Php 595.

k-palette 1 day magic

They are all very nice but what I particularly wanted were those products I do not have- the highlight/contour palette, brown eyebrow mascara, liquid pen eyeliner.

sayaka nagashima

I am so happy!!! I have many pencils and a gel type, and now I have a liquid eyeliner!

k-palette 1 day magic liquid eyeliner

Thank you K-Palette! It is not just a makeup but it has beauty essence to aid in eyelash growth!
Oh, if you are interested, (I am sure you are!) the 1 Day Magic Series is available 10% off til August 3!

Sweet Endings with My Cadbury Barkada

People close to me know that I always end my meal with a dessert. On top of mind is chocolates.

Cadbury is one of those chocolate that I can say is truly delicious and enjoyable. When I was a child, I tasted a Cadbury bar variant (with different fruity fillings) from abroad brought by my uncle. I cannot forget, even after so many years, its taste and the pleasure it gave me.  I am hoping that I can find one again.

Cadbury Dairy Milk has that sweet, milky-chocolatey goodness that me and my barkada, friends and family crave for. It gives any awesome good time, even a simple moment, a sweet ending to look forward to!

Here we are enjoying  Cadbury Dairy Milk Cashew and Cookies (made in Malaysia, Php 52 for 65g) in a simple get together, after a meal and about to watch TV.

SM 3 Day Sale!

If you have been following me on Instagram or my Facebook page, then you would know that I love a good sale. I'm a bargain hunter and often can't resist promos.

I frequently go malling at SM. I was in SM City North Edsa earlier for their July 18 to 20, 2014 Great Northern Sale.

sm 3 day sale
Uh-oh, brownout!!! It was hot and some escalators aren't functioning. Good thing they still have their FREE 1 hour Wi-Fi hehe.

Here are some tips that I hope could help shoppers:

  • In the department store, during the 2 Hour Special or first two hours of the first day of sale, get additional 10% off. In the case today, it was extended to 3 hours because they only gave the number stub (proof that you were in line during the said period and that entitles you to the discount) around 1 PM. (Note: It is only helpful if what you buy is worth a lot of money because you save a lot. Otherwise if you can only save Php 20, it is impractical because you will get hungry and buy food/drinks for the meantime before finally having your late lunch and the candy they gave to those in the queue couldn't help my hurting stomach and feet. Imagine lining up for two-three hours and being nalipasan ng gutom. I arrived before 11 AM and I was only able to pay around 2:00 PM.)
  • In the Supermarket, watch out for the Value Pack with SM Bonus items  in bundles, which is exclusive for SM Advantage and BDO Rewards Card holders, where you can save up to 70% off. (Note: I often go to different supermarkets and groceries, I noticed the price of most items in SM is a bit higher than in other stores, the consolation is a 1 SMAC point equivalent for every Php 200 spend. But it doesn't help much if, say, I buy an item in SM it's Php 14 but in another store it's only Php 13.
sm advantage, promo,
Some of the stuff I bought.
  • Compare prices and check out expiration dates.
  • For those who like free taste, there are many in the supermarket during this time.
  • Be aware of the minimum purchase to be eligible to join their raffles.
  • Visit other kiosks, boutiques and tenants as most are also on sale.
Sale seasons are usually during the pay week. Before, I would buy stuff I don't really need then find out that my half month minimum salary is almost gone. Don't shop til you drop. Shop wisely. I hope everyone can save money and achieve financial freedom. It's not fun to be neck deep in debt!

Parachute Bags Combines Fashion and Function for the On The Go You!

I know about luggage made of materials used in parachutes. But I must admit, I am surprised upon learning that there are regular bags also made of parachute materials at such an affordable price.

A few months back, I blogged about my Elle luggage acquisition here. I had a really hard time choosing which to pick because they are so gorgeous! During the blogger event in Just Thai BGC last July 9, 2014, I found out that the company distributing Elle and Parachute is the same!

alex gonzaga, parachute bags
Parachute Convertible Bags endorser is host/actress Alex Gonzaga.

Parachute Bags started December 2012. It is manufactured abroad. Its description:
"Let's talk about nifty and clever- this Parachute brand bag... I'm called Parachute because I am made with the same material that makes parachutes. I'm light and water repellant. I go two way and I go convertible. I'm indestructible and vibrantly stylish. You can stash all your stuff in my roomy bags. You can make me small again and store me easily. I'm indispensable and in high demand for shopping and traveling. I am a gift to the environmentalists."

Marriott Hotel Manila: All American, All Good!

For most Filipinos (including this writer), we adore everything USA. In fact, I have relatives working in this great nation, living their American dream. We love their ideals, products, food, and American people are very good-looking too. :)

Last July 8, 2014, 6:00 PM, Marriott Hotel Manila has prepared a magical evening for guests as they launched All American, All Good at Marriott.

4th of July Theme in Vikings Luxury Buffet

Dining in Vikings Luxury Buffet during birthdays has been somewhat a yearly tradition for me and my husband. And why not? We had the privilege of experiencing fine dining and I am convinced that Vikings can give hotels a run for their money.

The  presentation of the food by the chefs is exquisite, the ambiance of the place with its chandeliers is very elegant,  yes, even the comfort room looks splendid, all at about half the price of what you would expect to pay in hotel restaurants.

A couple days ago, I was happy to have been invited by my friend Rattus to a food sampling in Vikings SM North Edsa.

Vikings offers a theme every month and for this July, it is "4th of July." A celebration of lavish American inspired cuisine. It starts today, then every weekends (Saturday, Sunday) this whole July.

The menu prepared by their skilled chefs is splendid indeed!

Corn on a Cob
Yorkshire Pudding [I cried out upon tasting how yummy it was]
Tenderloin (Red Wine Sauce and Horse Radish Sauce) [I admit this was the first time I tried meat medium rare- middle was pink and it was soft- but I learned that if cooked longer, like if I had it well done, it becomes a bit harder and chewy]

No matter how full I am, there's still space in my tummy for dessert! My meals are never complete without it.

Boston Cream Pie New York Cheese Cke Cherry Cashew Parfaits

Boston Cream Pie [satisfied my hardcore sweet tooth]
New York Cheese Cake [I think we all agreed this was yummy]
Cherry Cashew Parfaits [the taste was just right and I liked chewing the cashews]

Drinks I had:

Green Tea (in previous photo)
Clockwise- Coffee
Minty Lemon-Lime Juice [uniquely refreshing!]
Tamarind Juice [authentic sampaloc taste]

What a grand gustatory delight! If I had to choose a favorite, it is quite hard because they are all delicious, but it would have to be Tortilla Club Sandwich- because it was the first I tasted, everything hence seemed to be dream-like because I was transported to food heaven!!!

We filled ourselves with this good food for about 3 hours, same as the time spent when me and my husband returned here again just last night, his birthday.

Birthdays at Vikings means FREE food (lunch/dinner). FREE buffet for the celebrant who is with one paying adult on the birthday itself. And there is a  new promo for all their branches- bring 4 paying companions and the celebrant can eat for FREE on the other days of his/her birth month. Don't forget to bring your valid ID!
