My cousin and I used to chat regarding beauty products and promos. Late last year, when she visited Japan, she mentioned Tokyo Love Soap and that it was popular. I was intrigued because I didn't know it at all. So I researched about it and found out that many people have been raving about it. I asked her to buy me one and she said she will just give it to me for free as pasalubong (gift.) She said she had a hard time looking for it there and had to go to many stores. I just want to share that she said the storekeepers in Japan are very polite and respectful.

Are there fake Tokyo Love soaps? Based on my research, no! Those bearing the logo are authentic but different versions.

Likes

• Does not melt easily. See the picture below- almost 2 months after and it's still big.
• Very fragrant- the bathroom smells lovely. I can't exactly pinpoint what scent it was. I can't understand the label so I sought online and found out it is ylang ylang and rose scent.
• I rarely had any blemishes with it and if ever, it's small and goes away fast.
• Skin is instantly brighter after one use (believe me I wanted to show the "before and after 1 use" of my face)- but of course, it's not magic and permanent. Regular use is needed because we are continuously exposed to the elements.
• Seems to somewhat refine skin and pores, although I wouldn't say the enlarged pores (or rather deep pitted scar) had disappeared completely.
• Japan made = high quality!

Comment

• Expensive- a 100 gram bar costs about Php 600 (depending on the variant and seller.)
• Not easily bought at brick and mortar stores here in the Philippines. If it's available in leading department stores, you could smell and touch the tester. You can purchase thru online sellers.
• My cousin who gave me this was not hiyang (compatible) and reported she had a facial breakout. So she used it on her body and she said her skin became soft and smooth.
• After using it many times, of course it will get smaller. Now, this smaller- almost used up- bar does not lather easily and is not as foamy as a "fresh" one.

I opened it last November 4, 2013; this picture is taken December 27.. Left- This is the size of one half of the bar I used. I used it almost exclusively on my face, (on the body only about 4 times); even my husband was off limits.

Is it worth repurchasing?
I think so!!! Just include it if budget permits...
