Saving Mother Earth
It's in the news and we can feel it. Global warming, climate change, worsening natural disasters.
All of us, rich or poor, are living in the same blue planet. There is only 1 Earth and we are the stewards who should protect it.
Here are ways that I practice and encourage to help preserve the beauty of nature:
I hope lessons on caring for our environment will be taught more strictly in schools, in barangay centers in the communities and through other information dissemination channels.
But of course, it will be quite a challenge to learn on an empty stomach.
That is why my ultimate dream since childhood, is to be able to give nourishment to our famished brethren.
A soup kitchen to feed our hungry fellowmen is the one thing I hope to be my gift to the Philippines.
My dear reader, now I ask you:
“If there is one thing you can give to the Philippines, what is that gift?”

At this time and age, we can let our voices be heard by the authorities. And maybe, just maybe, all our positive thinking can move the powers that be and make our dreams come true.

- Reduce, reuse, recycle. Whenever possible, refrain from using straws, or extra plastic bags, cups especially if non-biodegradable.
- Carpool/commute; and if destination is just nearby- walk or ride a bike to keep fit. Not only will it lessen gas emission (compared to 1 person : 1 car on the road), it will help alleviate the traffic jam.
- Throw your waste at thrash bins and segregate your garbage.
- Turn off electrical appliances when not in use; repair leaking faucets.
- Do not buy things that are not needed because it may end up as more garbage polluting the Earth.
- Report illegal loggers, miners, dynamite fishing.
- Favor or make the switch to organic products.
- Be responsible and contribute in your own way.
