A Gastronomic Fare at Paire
Recently, I was able to enjoy an intimate (there was only 4 of us!) food sampling experience at Paire Cocktails and Pastries.
This Specialty restaurant (merging special cocktails and desert lovers) opened December of 2011 and is run by sisters Ms. Kathlene and Chef Abby Nantes.
Q: Why called Paire?
A: Wine pairing, cocktail pairing, beer pairing.
They offer customized cakes and cupcakes, bridal and baby showers, paint your treats, party bar packages, themed events and special events packages.
It has a cozy ambiance. I'd say it's perfect to have a date in this place.
While waiting for your food, you can read their magazines in a table and listen to the music.
Everything is prepared and made as you order. Yes, even the dips are made from scratch.
Food presentation is exquisite.
Drinks
Cold and freshly made pandan tea.
Appetizer
Grissini (oregano breadstick)
Lugid- Liempo meets chicharon. Chef's grandma's recipe. Super delicious crispy and tasty, not greasy. Highly recommended.
Filler
Fish and chips
From their Carnival theme (which had a run til April 30, but this May, they will be having a relaunch):
Ring master- mixed green salad with tomatoes, olives and cucumber in apple cider vinaigrette served in taco shells.
Jumbo- spicy beer marinated chicken wings and fish with butter popcorn sauce served with bacon, rice and baked tomato with popcorn on the side.
Bravado- fusion of hot and cold; fried Oreos served with vanilla ice cream topped with cotton candy.
Cocktail pastry
T: Buttery Pound and white wine
B: Lemon almond and sparkling wine
T: Chocolate orange and red wine
B: Carrot walnut and Chardonnay
T: Almond slice n amaretto sour cocktail. No wonder this is a Bestseller- the sweetness is just right, the cake melts in your mouth with chewy almond slivers; cocktail is mild not bitter. (My favorite!)
B: Spinach and three cheese- feta, mozzarella, parmesan. Sparkling Lemon wine. (Like a pizza, for those who isn't big on sweets)
Ben & Etta- hot chocolate with chocolate chip cookie, snicker doodle and sugar cookies.
Notes:
Walk ins are welcome but reservation is needed for themed dining.
Operating hours:
Sunday to Thursday 12nn- 10pm. Friday to Saturday til 1am. Closed Mondays.
Paire is located in the Ground Floor of Cocoon Boutique Hotel, Scout Tobias corner Scout Rallos, Quezon City.
