Gachiakuta Anime Review
I was instantly hooked within the first minute of the first episode. Gachiakuta is a thrilling rollercoaster ride with no dull moments (unlike Lord of Mysteries which I struggled with during the first few episodes since the premise was all too unfamiliar, hence perplexing). The explosion of colors, the quirky art style, even the music was rocking. The protagonist is but human and relatable (acknowledging the villain within, even the disdain for the current society).
What I love about Japanese anime as well is the fact that it is mostly satire or social commentaries. The Sphere residents are dumping all their trash, be it unwanted things or people, into the Abyss. For us Earthlings it is the same godless consumerism, buying things you don't need and discarding them in a heartbeat. But what makes our polluting worse is that we fill this planet itself that we inhabit, our one and only home - effectively making heaps of garbage our legacy to the next generation...
Anyway need to catch up on the manga!
(Sakamoto Days, Dan Da Dan and Gachiakuta are good ongoing shows to look forward to weekly, what with the recently concluded season of my fave Apothecary Diaries and Kowloon Generic Romance. No news yet for Jujutsu Kaisen and Solo Leveling - when?!)
