Learn the Art of Coffee with Slow Brew Ph!
Hello po!
The most ardent cafe aficionado knows well that savoring the magic in his cuppa joe just ain't enough. This passion often translates to knowing and familiarizing himself with its slightest trivialities- just as a passionate lover to his paramour would.
Welcome to Slow Brew Ph- a pop up cafe that serves specialty coffee in which different brewing methods are highlighted.
Last December 10, 2016, coffee enthusiasts and bloggers were gathered in a room at the Level 3, Cinema Lounge in Century Mall, Makati, for a day of wholesome enjoyment of delicious coffee and learning more about it.
The day's schedule:
Specialty coffee, What's In a Cup, Brew By You, Art in a Cup.
Coffee fans milled around socializing with kindred spirits, tasting and appreciating the differences in each different cup of kape they consumed.
Baristas in action- slow brewing using methods such as Siphon, Chemex, Hario V60, Kalita, Aeropress.
Grinder, espresso machine is also utilized. Feel free to ask which tool is which.
Slow Brew is coined such because this is not instant 3 in 1, but each brew is literally slow- taking at least 4 minutes.
Only 1 kind of coffee bean was used for the day- 100% Arabica from Benguet.
During lecture time, all ears were listening intently for coffee is a most interesting subject.
The Php 350 ticket for Slow Brew is inclusive of unlimited brew. But be warned- even the greatest caffeine junkie has a limit to the cups he can safely consume in a day- or face the dreaded consequences!
I got Bibingka (rice cake), a perfect partner to coffee, for just Php 25 each. This version by Lola's Best made me an instant fan!
Slow Brew Saturday was made possible in partnership with Barista & Coffee Academy of Asia (BCAA), Kalsada Coffee Roasters and sponsored by SkinStation.
