Love Story Date Korean Cafe Style at Papa Kim's Bakery
Hello po! I always have a soft spot for quaint cafes. A couple of months ago, as I was headed to a resto in Sct. Fernandez, I saw Papa Kim's Korean Bakery & Coffee. It brought to mind the Korean cafe I saw in Boracay that also caught my eye but unfortunately wasn't able to visit.
I wanted to come inside pronto but alas, I cannot since I was also going to a kainan. So it was after the event that we were able to check out Papa Kim's. I was surprised that the prices were so affordable and most items were at 50% off (since breads are baked fresh they put it on sale near closing time). Of course I had to order my fave bingsu and we bought other breads for take out.
Fast forward to January 31, 2018 and I once again find myself inside the dreamy Papa Kim's. This time, on a mission to blog about the place.
Even during my first time at Papa Kim's, I noticed then how fantastic it was that they have a clean toilet, free Wi-Fi and provisions for charging of gadgets. The TV in the wall shows fun K-Pop videos. Bonus is the place is not too overcrowded hence visited by celebrities (you can see their pics in the wall)!
Papa Kim is truly cozy- perfect for catching up, studying, working, relaxing in...
Details:
Papa Kim's opened its doors to the public last May 8, 2016. The owner is a fellow Pinoy with a Korean partner.
What's in a name:
No, the owner's name isn't Kim but that moniker was chosen since it is a popular name in the land of the Oppa's.
Bestseller cake:
Cream cheese cake and next is Blueberry cheese mousse.
Bestseller pastry:
Cream cheese bun.
These are the stuff we chose for food tasting and I have to say the way they look are presentable!
Cream cheese bun-
A bun made of fresh cream cheese and stuffed with cream cheese.
I can definitely tell why this is THE best seller. It's soft with a luscious yummy filling.
Honey castella-
A soft bread with caramelized honey on top.
This was my other favorite.
Mocha bread-
Choco muffin-
A small domed cake with chocolate chips on top.
Green tea bingsu-
This bingsu has on top green tea powder, injeolme, almond slivers, whipped cream, and red beans (red beans also in mid-ice), with the uniquely Korean ice flakes. It's really milky too. I just LOVE this dessert.
Green tea pair-
Green tea frappe and Fresh cream green tea cake slice.
Ain't it obvious by now that I love all things matcha?
