Padre Pio Mountain of Healing in SJDM Bulacan - My 1st Visit!
Hello po! Yesterday, our family went to Padre Pio Mountain of Healing which is located at Brgy. Paradise 3, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, Philippines.
St. Pio of Pietrelcina, born Francesco Forgione on May 25, 1887, was given the name of Pius when he joined the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin.
Padre Pio was a friar, Spiritual Director, and mystic. He was known for his piety and charity, as well as the gift of the stigmata.
This Italian priest and teacher has been venerated a Saint in the Catholic Church. He has many followers and devotees all around the world due to his inspiring life and works. He performs miracles, even for hopeless cases! He is the patron saint of civil defense volunteers, adolescents, and stress-relief.
Google Map or Waze will help you locate the place. There is also a poster in the main road which is kilometers away. This journey, although far, is a scenic one.
You may carry an umbrella, fan, or wear a hat to combat heat, or just sacrifice and forego them. You may choose to bring your own food and drinks, but much better if you purchase at the site and help the livelihood of the people from here. They have cold bottled water, fresh coconuts, shakes, snacks, root crop, fruits, vegetables and others. Shops also offer souvenirs which bear Padre Pio's images like figurines, handkerchiefs, oil, etc. They have quite everything you need and just come as you are! There are also comfort rooms.
Entrance to Padre Pio Mountain of Healing is free. There are boxes situated in different areas where you can donate for the church construction.
They have an ongoing raffle of an NMAX as a means to help build the church. This is a private property. The Holy Week is near, you may include this in your Way of the Cross.
There is this upwards slope and I saw some motorcycle til up here. Those challenged in walking are encouraged to stay in the chapel. There are also poor but friendly dogs, kindly give them food.
But with the stairs, one needs to walk. I think this is not extremely high so the elderly would still be able to climb it up with rest stops in between.
Any tiredness fades when you breathe in the fresh air and immerse in the breathtaking view of the sky, mountains and trees.
Saint Padre Pio 50 ft. giant size sculpture welcomes you above.
Statues of Padre Pio's hands famed for receiving Christ's stigmata. He wore gloves for most of his adult life because his hands bled from two puncture wounds which never healed. His feet and side also received the marks of the Lord's crucifixion.
Please observe solemnity as this is a holy place for prayers. Proper dress code is required. Do not litter (sacks are hanging at various places, throw your trash there).
There are areas for Rosaries and candles.
Padre Pio Mountain of Healing SJDM schedule of visitation:
Tuesday to Sunday, 6 AM to 5 PM. (Closed on Mondays.)
Masses are held on Sundays at 3 PM and healing mass every 23rd day of the month at 9 AM.
We and the others I saw who went here arrived on a car (others motorcycle, some were walking and I presume they are nearby residents) so I am not quite sure about the public transpo, or which jeepney to ride to get here.
I have also been to Padre Pio's shrine/ church in Tagaytay, Eastwood, and Batangas. St. Padre Pio reminds us not to give up in our fervent prayers! Are you a witness to Saint Padre Pio's blessing and miracle? Feel free to share in the comments below! Thank you for reading! God Bless! :)
