What's the Best Lice Shampoo for Kids?

I remember when I was in elementary, I had a classmate with waist length hair that was full of white dots or lisa (lice eggs). I always sported short hair but every now and then I would get infected. I cannot stand itching so I (or my Mom) will aggressively use lice shampoo and suyod (fine toothed comb) to get rid of the pesky insects.

Back then I think we only had one brand, now there are more to choose from.

Recently when I went to a cheap salon for a haircut, and I contacted yet again head lice presumably from their dirty brush.

Take note, I used Licealiz the day after my salon visit as a precaution. But still, after a week, I spotted a huge lice stuck on the comb as I was running it through my hair. Nakakakilabot!

So I had to immediately buy the one I am familiar with as a child - Kwell. Let us compare these two.

Price - Licealiz at php 25 wins (and sometimes they are on buy 2 get 1 free I think). Kwell is much more expensive at php 44.

Variants- Licealiz has 2 variants - the regular and the cooling one. Both brands are available in either sachets or in bottle form.

Fragrance and lathering ability - Licealiz is as mild as a regular shampoo. Smells pleasing and froths well. Meanwhile, Kwell reeks of strong insecticide and hardly even bubbles. When you pour, it is just like water.

Effectivity - Permethrin Kwell wins hands down. Works faster. It is stronger and more powerful against lice and eggs. KO! But for prevention or maintenance, I think Pyrethrin Licealiz would suffice.

I used hair color the day after Kwell. And then used Licealiz the following day.  I badly want the lice gone. I cannot afford to infect my other family members!

I am happy to report that it was not a severe lice infestation. Thankfully it was not like with others where there are hundreds crawling! I only ever caught 1 big and 3 tiny lice (kuyumad), and maybe 5 lice eggs. I hope they are eradicated now. I will repeat Kwell next week.

Also a tip is use a cream for your hair. Maybe even hair gel. Currently, I am using Mise en Scene curling essence. I think it does the trick - kind of suffocates the insect or makes it stick to the comb for easy removal. Again, it is not poison; it just helps with catching it.

This is not a sponsored post. I just wrote this as a comparison between the two brands that I have been using. Anyway this is similar to the battle of the two dewormers, Antiox (Mebendazole) and Combantrin (Pyrantel). Which anthelmintic do you think is best? :)
