Take A Day Off and Be Pampered at New Unimart's Ooh La Lash, Hey Sugar and Nailaholics
Good news! For our frens in the vicinity of Greenhills, the ultimate pampering strip is now open in the New Unimart! You don't have to go far since Hey Sugar, Nailaholics and Ooh La Lash are adjacent to each other! The place is so cool and fresh, ready to serve your beautification needs- be it lashes, waxing, nails and more!
I was so happy to get invited to the Grand Opening of R2 Group of Companies' newest stores at the Mezzanine level of Unimart last July 14, 2017 (the soft launch was July 1 / 2). Being stressed and all, I believe I truly deserve a whole day of pampering.
What I like about Hey Sugar, Nailaholics and Ooh La Lash, aside from high quality products and value-added services, is their adherence to safety. Find out more about my experience:
First stop, Nailaholics. I will be getting leg waxing at Hey Sugar later, so I should have this footspa/mani/pedi done first, because mag-oopen pores after wax. Last will be extensions at Ooh La Lash!
Upon entering, the salon is very fragrant and one is immediately enticed by the ambiance- like an island getaway. As if that isn't enough, instrumental music is plugged, conducive to sleeping - errr I mean relaxing.
Nailaholics' staff are well-trained and really courteous, checking every now and then if you are comfy, if you are okay or hurt while they make kutkot the nails (the sides of nails on my toe is kinda deep, tmi, Ikr!), and they thank you after they are done with the service.
Jenny and Kristelle had accommodated me that day and they did an efficient service.
FOOT SPA / PEDI
- The process includes, to the best of my remembrance: soak, buff with paddle, green scrub, rinse, towel dry, removal of old polish with acetone, file, push cuticle, cutting or shaping the sides with nipper, cleaning the undernails, buffing nails with block, lotion and massage, base, color, top coat.
MANI
- The steps as I recall: spray sanitizer, nailcutter, file, push cuticle, drop cuticle softener, cut shape with nipper, buff with block, spray sanitizer, clean undernails, lotion, massage, spray sanitizer, wipe, towel, base, color, top coat.
Of course, I am sure you are aware that the tools used in Nailaholics are sanitized!
My fave design, however, is in Hey Sugar. I am drawn to the concept- it is really pretty and dainty, with flowers, pastels, and all cutesy stuff. Rooms also have Princess-y names like Anne, Kaitlin, Chloe, Sophie.
Hey Sugar is proud of utilizing natural, skin-friendly materials- cornstarch, VCO, organic thread, and the wax is made of kalamansi, sugar and water.
I like that my aesthetician that day, Acel, has that tamang chika, to make me feel at ease. Lively pop music is also played throughout.
Half leg waxing- from the mid kneecaps to feet. The process requires powdering the area with cornstarch, waxing proper, threading the stubborn short hair, then lie on your tummy coz the back will be waxed, and then same steps. A soothing massage with VCO finally to calm your senses.
This is the brow threading results. Goodbye unruly brows hehehe! I can never replicate its precision with just shaving.
Firstly, before the lash extension procedure, you have to choose the number, length, and the curve of lashes. For this day, I chose Diva, #11 lashes, C curve.
Now I know that some people may be hesitant about lash extensions due to health and eyesight safety issues, but the best part is, the materials Ooh La Lash uses- like the mink lashes and glue- are FDA approved! Now it's sure to be the best thing to give one peace of mind.
Ooh La Lash utilizes synthetic mink lashes. Pag natural or real, hindi mo alam san galing, fren.
This branch has 6 cubicles. Dig the Hawaiian/luau vibe. The background music is also relaxing instrumental.
Ooh La Lash boasts of lash expertise- the ladies have been trained for 30 days, making their trials on about 50 people! Dami ha! The one who handled me that day was Rizza, and she is very knowledgeable.
This are the steps as I listed them:
Drape towel over my body, head massage, facial massage with oil, eye collagen patch on undereyes, primer, tape eyelids, application of lash extensions, afterwards electric fan to my face to freshen after the process is finished, finally put oil then arm and hand massage, back massage.
Yes I shut my eyes tight but there had been a bit of sting near the end, it is to be expected. Even in my experience with other salons may hapdi. It is said to be from singaw or fume from the adhesive, and not from the glue itself. It is tolerable, and lasted a short while.
Winner naman ang complimentary massage! This is my third time to try lash extensions. The first two are in different salons, but only here in Ooh La Lash, may pa-massage si Mayor!
The service itself is around 1 hour, and the lash extensions can last from 3 weeks to 1 month, depending on how you care for it.
The results--- bongga! Dyosa lashes! As of this writing, it had been two weeks, yet my eyes are still doll-like with lush lashes. There was minimal fall outs and they are still straight.

I love that their brow threading is more lasting compared to those I have tried before. About 2 weeks before any re-growth!

When the expected life span of the lash extensions is reached (which is a month), I love that these
fabulash already go off without the need for yanking! Therefore, no ouch and no icky look with gaps on your peepers! It must be the magic of their adhesive.
