Celebrating Teaspoon Cafe Valenzuela's First Anniversary!
Anniversary celebrations are always important occasions. It marks the first year - looking back at the memories and the lessons learned, or how any hurdle has been successfully overcome. Such was the joyous event last July 7, 2018, Teaspoon Cafe Valenzuela's 1st Year Anniv!
To celebrate #TeaspoonTurns1, they gave away a hundred FREE cupcakes to customers that day, plus promos in-store.

I found the place modern, spacious enough and cozy. One can sit outside for fresh air, or inside, air-conditioned. It's envisioned to be a community inside a community.
There is a dining area in the first floor or customers can choose to climb up second level. There are proper tables and chairs, or as is popular with the young ones these days, they can opt to lounge on the floor, and rest on beanie couches.
I braved the torrential downpour that afternoon to make my way to Valenzuela from Caloocan. I got soaked. Thankfully they were very accommodating. A welcoming warm cup of cappuccino was like a warm fuzzy blanket for any dampness in my spirit.
A tip- drink your coffee 2 minutes after it was served, and finish it within 5. Am I right, Kate?
So let's take a look at more of the goodies, shall we?
Potato Zesty Fries. Yes man, the flavor and the crunchiness as it's coated, you can compare it with those of the famous chicken fastfood's.
Nachos- I still find these another experience from the others I have tried. It has cheese and sweet mayo drizzles, but the meat spells the difference! I feel that this is okay for a barkada of four.
Pizza- All Meat Special, 4 Cheese Pizza, Hawaiian Cheezy Delight. This is my fave as it's ridiculously good! Gooey cheese, quality ingredients, and they pack a crunch as these are thin crust. It's also 10" so this is sufficient for double.
Pesto- a perennial favorite of mine. This pasta has perfectly balanced flavors, not too much tuna that it destroys the harmony, but just the right ingredients.
The Cheesy mushroom burger must have been so good that one of the bloggers hungrily gobbled this up so fast!
These were the 5 dishes wherein you can pick 2 for Php 199. A bit of a trivia:
The pork adobo was the recipe of the owner's Chinese grandmother! I really enjoyed that too with its tender chunks, sweet sauce and hardboiled egg.
Binagoongang bagnet
Kare-kareng bagnet
Bagnet (known to be a putok batok) can be quite tedious to cook at home, but these viands are staples in Pinoy cuisine, and for a good reason, they are hearty and bring an explosion of textures and flavors, sure to please the Filipino tastebuds.
Salisbury steak. By now, I am quite full, and the other food reviewers partook the meat. See how big it is. The gravy is also fantastic.
I got the matcha frappuccino, second from left. It is sweet and a must try for those new to or trying out matcha (as it is an acquired taste as they say). It doesn't have the "parang damo" bit.
Calamansi Shake- my, a perfect ending after all those food! It's so refreshing! Plus, if I remember correctly, this one is made of real fruit hence the pleasant sweet and sour tingle! Others opted for Green apple, which they say tastes similar to the 24/7 convenience store chain's slurpee.
Now, what I like about these, aside from, as you can see, nice plating, was absolutely how good the food smells as it is yummy. 'Yung tipong nilalapag pa lang yung pagkain, humahalimuyak na. Not to mention, the prices are budget friendly!

I myself am witness at how the cafe was literally FULL HOUSE come dinner time. There was no vacant despite of the numerous tables. There's a lot of customers- students, friends, families. This is, I suppose, a testament that the residents in the vicinity are satisfied with this find.
