Pinoy Pride this Olympic Day 2018
We as a nation always feel a deep sense of "Pinoy Pride" whenever any of our artist, beauty queen or athlete wins. When a Filipino or Filipina takes home the Trophy, Crown or Medal, it is as if we ourselves won too!
Speaking of athletes, the Olympics or Olympic Games are the leading international sporting events, which feature summer and winter sports competitions wherein thousands of athletes from around the world participate in a variety of competitions.
The Olympics is considered the world's foremost sports competition with more than 200 nations in participation.
The Olympic movement is not just about sports excellence. It is also a way of life upholding the values of friendship, trust and respect. It promotes global unity and peace through sports.
Now on its 70th Anniversary, Olympic Day in the Philippines transpired last June 30, 2018, Saturday. It was held at the track and field stadium of the ULTRA in Pasig, from 6 AM to 11 AM.
Spartan race type, obstacle courses were hurdled by adult athletes, kids and even animals!
It was FREE Entrance. Everyone is welcome.
There are booths doing selling and giving freebies.
OPM singer Rox Puno entertains the crowd.
Being a dog lover, I was enamored with the cuddly canines present!
I hope I got the names and breeds correctly, if not, please get in touch so I can edit 'em!
Oh, thanks to the owners for letting me capture your pets!
Mavies the Yorkshire Terrier.
The Poodle is Sushi and the Welsh Terrier is Ramen.
Margo, the black German Shepherd and Mela, the Belgian Malinois.
Giveaway from the sponsors.
I remember the Gilas Pilipinas recent rift with the Aussie team, but our Pambansang Kamao Manny Pacquiao prevailed in last weeks'fight against Matthysse. There are good and bad stories, but it was nice to have a day of pure sports solidarity, as with the Olympic Day.
Let us always support our hardworking athletes and Olympians. #OlympicDay Thanks for reading! :)
