Quanta Paper R3RUN Run For Sustainability

For a decade now, an eco-friendly manufacturer in the Philippines balances business with social conscience. “We endure to strike a balance between profit and social conscience,” says Quanta Paper Corporation President & General Manager Steven Leung.

Guided by the principle of sustainable practices, Quanta Paper manufactures hygienic tissue
products utilizing used office paper as raw materials instead of virgin fibers. This help in the
preservation of world’s rainforests, because deforestation is the result of the traditional practice in the paper
making industry when they extract virgin fibers.

Quanta Paper R3RUN fun run

The green campaign/ fun run activity will be held on August 10, 2014, 5 AM. The Run for Sustainability, or dubbed as R3RUN (Reuse, Reduce, Recycle Run) is aimed

  • to inspire environmental action among Filipinos and raise awareness on climate change
  • to educate consumers on the importance of green labeled products and how patronizing such could help protect nature
The R3RUN serves as both strategic marketing and social responsibility tools of the Company. “We would like to be more loudly in telling our story of sustainable practices and at the same time capitalize in building our brand equity,” shares Quanta Paper corporate strategist and Race Committee head Neil Erich Galicia. “The Run is a step forward to begin a bold and concrete action. In this way we could start a wave that could reach through every corner of our archipelago.”

R3RUN is to be held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex in Roxas Boulevard Manila and will be participated in by around 10,000 runners.

Inspired by an EcoVillage theme, it will showcase some of the best environmental photo exhibits and social efforts by the Company and its partners and will also show how hygienic tissue is produced from waste paper to finished product.
