Philippine Fashion Revolution 2019 - What To Look Forward To
Hello po! Frens, last August 29, 2019 afternoon, I attended the Philippine Fashion Revolution Press Conference at the Lynn Bentsen Academy in Hemady Square. The collection is jaw-dropping and I greatly admire the creativity, hard work and zeal of the talented designers!
Be ready, fashion lovers - the Philippine Fashion Revolution is upon us with less than a month to go! The world will soon be able to witness the beauty of Philippine weaves fused with typical fabrics in this modern era and digital world.
This revolutionary fashion show unlike any other the Philippine audience has ever seen will be featuring 93 fashion designers and more than 120 models! It will showcase the intricacy of the indigenous weaves from different regions of the Philippines. The different interpretations of the Modern Katutubo is a definite must see!
PFR aims to prove that cloth weaving as an art is not dead or dying. In fact, it is more alive than ever before, for woven clothing can now be worn by modern Pinays and is no longer relegated or limited to indigenous tribes.
It can be incorporated into office wear, cocktail dresses, evening gowns, accessories, and even shoe wear! In fact, one of the rising trends in bridal wear is to have a piece of woven fabric as part of the veil or outer layer of the bridal gown.
The Philippine Fashion Revolution is a show that a true lover of fashion or a fierce supporter of local products simply should not miss! It aims to parade designs that utilize quintessential fabrics that are infused with Philippine weaves, highlighting modern Filipino fashion.

"Philippine fabric is sobrang ganda, from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao... We are also helping farmers. Fabric is expensive but with higher demand, price will lower. With that, more farmers will have jobs..
Maraming magaling na designer but hindi mabigyan ng chance to showcase their creations - this is another one of the reasons for PFR."
